As part of my nomination as one of Australia’s best travel blogs I was asked to share my thoughts on the most exiting travel trends – what I believe holiday makers are seeking for the year ahead.

“The notion that luxury comes in many guises; the shift away from simply plonking in a resort, to seeking experiences. Travellers are looking to tailor holidays – as we work harder and life moves faster – uncomplicated, relaxing and experiential holiday options are sort.

Retro stye holidays of old will resurface – with a difference. The majority of families do not want to simply swap one home for another, they actually need a break – taking the opportunity to decompress for absolute time out, generally not totally disconnecting (how else will we Instagram…). Luxury of time spent outdoors, in naturally stunning locations, enjoying locally sourced cuisine, sitting and reading, star gazing, eating ice creams (or vanilla slices from local bakeries), playing board games and taking walks. In accommodation where someone else has made the bed and provided the groceries – boutique properties that offer full service will be the winners…”
